In the Beginning

When each U.S. President exchanges office with the next, there is an important ceremony that occurs behind locked doors. The outgoing President takes the new President aside, hands over a Teddy and whispers “Take good care of this Teddy, you’ll find he will become your best friend and you’ll definitely come to depend on him in times of trouble. Plus, he’ll probably help you sleep easier at night.”

Earth’s first encounter with aliens occurred in 1902 when furry, bear like, intergalactic peace keepers made contact with the U.S. President Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt to warn earth of impending doom. All the nastiest, meanest, and ugliest creatures of the universe had discovered a little blue planet just ripe for plundering and pillaging.

A plan was hatched where a huge army of Teddies would be placed in suspended animation and sold as cuddly toys to each and every household. When trouble shows up, the Teddies would be activated and awoken from their slumber to deal with any alien attack.

This game uses 3D graphics acceleration so you’ll need to install it on a PC with a graphics card that supports DirectX 9.0. The download file is 30 MB. Download the .msi file from file front then run/double click it to install under Windows. It will create shortcut on your desktop as well as a Start Programs entry.

The controls are pretty self explanatory, WASD for movement, 12345 for weapons, left mouse for fire, right mouse for “bullet time”. You can look up the controls under the Options menu item. ESC will display the menu any time during game play. You can only save your game at the end of each level and be careful with those lives as you only get a new life after earning significant points.

Warning: This game does contain some Teddy violence that may not be suitable for younger players. To uninstall just use the Add/Remove Programs tool under the Windows control panel.

Making the Fur Fly

As we develop the 3D animation and the new version of the game, one of our key areas of focus is realistic fur. We have created a fur shader for our game engine and intend using it extensively in the game as well as for short animation work. As our teddies are intergalactic peace keepers, and take their work very seriously, a realistic look both in our animation and game engine is very important to us.
